VoyaKin exists to help someone take a trip they’ve been dreaming about. Every post, answer and comment should make that a little easier. If you remember one thing: be the traveler you wish you had met before your first trip.

Share honestly

  • Tell your real experience: what surprised you, what it cost, how you felt. Your perspective is valuable even if it isn’t polished.
  • Make clear it’s your experience, not a rule for everyone. One trip isn’t the whole story of a country.
  • Don’t present guesses as facts about visas, entry rules, health or safety. Point people to official sources when those questions come up.

Be kind to beginners

  • No question is too basic. Never mock someone for not knowing something.
  • Disagree respectfully. Critique ideas, not people.
  • Don’t gatekeep travel. There’s no “right way” or “real traveler”.

Not allowed

  • Hate and harassment: attacks or slurs based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other identity; bullying, pile-ons or threats.
  • Scams and spam: fake deals, phishing, repetitive promotion, or undisclosed paid posts.
  • Impersonation: pretending to be another person, brand, official body or VoyaKin.
  • Privacy violations: sharing someone’s private information, or exact itineraries or accommodation locations (including your own, publicly). Get consent before featuring people in a recognizable way.
  • Sexual exploitation of anyone, and any sexual content involving minors. We report this to the authorities.
  • Dangerous misinformation that could put travelers at risk.
  • Violence or content that promotes illegal activity.

Disclose partnerships

If you were paid, gifted a trip or product, or got a discount for a post, you must turn on the paid partnership label. Once disclosed, only a moderator can remove it.

Meeting other travelers

Travel Circles are for support and shared tips. VoyaKin doesn’t match strangers for meetups. If you decide to meet someone, meet in a public place, tell someone you trust, and trust your instincts.

Reporting and blocking

You can report any post, comment, question or profile, and block or mute anyone. Reports are confidential: we never reveal who reported something. Our moderators review reports and may remove content, limit features, or suspend or remove accounts. Serious or repeated violations lead to permanent removal.
